Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hugh Jass!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Steve Montenegro and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jass thuds his right hand into Botev's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Jass throws out a powerful jab.
Botev misses the shot to the body.
Jass works Botev's body with a nice hook.
Botev throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Jass fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Jass lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Botev misses the shot to the body.
A punch combination from Jass misses.
Botev attempts a counter takedown but Jass avoids it well and moves away.
Botev pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Jass steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Botev.

Botev throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Jass tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Botev is in Jass's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Jass wants to get back to his feet but Botev is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Botev is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jass can do anything to dispel that myth.
Botev stands up over Jass, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Jass has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Tran MMA Gym. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Jass is trying to buck Botev off.
Botev is putting a hurting on Jass here, landing some big shots from side control.
