Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Nowa Imbatakum (ranked 4296 p4p, 4370 weight class) and Mark Padlov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nowa Imbatakum has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Nowa Imbatakum!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mark Padlov!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Colin Fray and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Padlov is trying hard to land a takedown here. Imbatakum sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Imbatakum really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Imbatakum dives in and scores a takedown into Padlov's guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Imbatakum's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

and Imbatakum counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Imbatakum changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Padlov tries to avoid it but Imbatakum manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Padlov to the ground. Padlov escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Imbatakum closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Imbatakum is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Padlov doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Imbatakum.

Padlov is staying active underneath Imbatakum, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Imbatakum looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Padlov with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
We've been hearing that Imbatakum has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

Imbatakum shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Padlov but Padlov pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Padlov jumps guard but Imbatakum stands there with Padlov around his waist. Padlov gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Imbatakum is working for takedown but Padlov is calmly controlling the position for now.

Padlov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Imbatakum. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Imbatakum feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
