Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Mick Taylor (ranked 4742 p4p, 4694 weight class) and Mohamed Ahmed (ranked 248 p4p, 247 weight class). Taylor comes to the cage accompanied by Better Get A Lawyer. Mick Taylor could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Mohamed Ahmed's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mick Taylor! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mohamed Ahmed! The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Eddie Farnsworth and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Taylor fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Ahmed! But no joy. Taylor shoots in looking for a takedown. Ahmed tries to sprawl out of it but Taylor keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ahmed manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Ahmed cracks Taylor with an open hand slap. Taylor throws out a token jab with nothing on it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Taylor misses with a hook
letting Ahmed counter with a right hand. Taylor feints and as Ahmed raises his hands in defense, Taylor changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Taylor is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Taylor wants to control from the top but Ahmed keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ahmed throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Taylor sitting in guard, not really doing much. Ahmed looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Taylor passes into half guard. Taylor really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Taylor is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Ahmed is defending against the submission attempts here by Taylor.

Ahmed flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Taylor is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Ahmed has managed to free his arm - good work. Ahmed really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Taylor. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ahmed throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Taylor looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Taylor seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Taylor is looking to advance position but Ahmed won't allow it. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ahmed can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Ahmed missing with punches from the bottom.
Taylor is keen to just control but Ahmed is a slippery customer. Taylor is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Taylor is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Taylor looking to control and managing it successfully. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Mick Taylor dominated that round. That's time! Taylor's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Taylor throws a hook to the side of Ahmed's head but Ahmed sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Ahmed slips under a jab from Taylor. Taylor staying out of range there. Taylor shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Ahmed napping and manages to drive through into side control! Taylor is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Ahmed has escaped the position, nice work there. Taylor tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Taylor content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ahmed misses with an elbow from the bottom. Ahmed struggling a bit here. Taylor working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Taylor looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Taylor is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Ahmed has escaped the position, nice work there. Ahmed manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Mick Taylor overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Taylor controlling the action here. Ahmed misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Ahmed is trying to get back to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ahmed is defending against the submission attempts here by Taylor.
Ahmed tries to roll over but Taylor keeps him under control. Taylor not doing much here.
Taylor is trying to control. Ahmed wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Taylor perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Taylor passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Ahmed! Ahmed flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Taylor tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Ahmed throwing hammer fists to the chest of Taylor. What's that going to do exactly? The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Taylor moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Ahmed has worked his arm free - good work by Ahmed!
Ahmed is trying to get back to half guard. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Mick Taylor dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round! Taylor tries to clinch but Ahmed moves away and Ahmed counters with a stiff right hand. Taylor shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ahmed pinned against the cage. Ahmed gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Ahmed! But no joy. Taylor fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Ahmed is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Taylor with a body shot. Taylor is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Ahmed can do to turn this around? Taylor shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Ahmed connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mick Taylor. That's going to take a lot out of him. Taylor manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Ahmed on his heels. He'll look to pass Ahmed's guard now, I'm sure. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Taylor is stalling in the full guard. Taylor slips nicely into half guard.

Taylor goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Ahmed is on top in guard.
Taylor pulls Ahmed in to control the position. Taylor is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Ahmed has his hands clasped together but Taylor extends and breaks Ahmed's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Taylor.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Mick Taylor! A relieved looking Mick Taylor thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
