Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cook tries to clinch but Portos moves out of range.
Portos looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Portos swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Cook tries to close the distance and clinch up but Portos swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Portos fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Cook sprawls well initially but Portos persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

It looks like Fred Portos has been cut.
Cook knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Portos on the ground.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Portos tries to hold on but Cook pushes him away.
Cook wants to stand but Portos is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.

Portos might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Cook kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Portos is desperately trying to improve his position but Cook has a good base and remains in mount.
Portos is squirming around, avoiding Cook's attempts to control the action.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Portos can do anything to dispel that myth.
Portos should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Cook wants to get back to his feet but Portos is holding on tight.

Cook decides to stand back up. Cook steps back and let's Portos get back to his feet.
Cook tries to close the distance and clinch but Portos swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Cook is looking to clinch but Portos is avoiding it.
Cook tries to close the distance and clinch up but Portos swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Cook is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Cook throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Portoss head.

Cook presses Portos against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Portos avoiding damage as Cook throws knees to the body.

Dan Cook is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Cook swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Portos tries for a takedown but Cook sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Dan Cook has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fred Portos.
Cook throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Portos jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Cook walks away with a smile on his face. Portos gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Cook is looking to clinch but Portos is avoiding it.
Cook throws a combination. Portos tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

Cook is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Cook fails with an attempt to clinch.

Portos bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Cook is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Portos asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Portos is trying to get an arm triangle but Cook is defending well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Portos passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Cook!

Portos is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Cook has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Cook's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
