The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Green fails in his attempt to clinch. Dubs decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Green (0) vs (2) Dubs The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Green wants to improve his position but Dubs is controlling well.
Dubs wants to control but Green is keeping him busy. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dubs trying to control from Green's half guard. Green has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Green wants to sweep here but Dubs controlling him for the moment. Green keeping moving, preventing Dubs from controlling successfully. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
That's one minute gone in the round. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Green holds on and takes a little breather. Green is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Score +2 for sweep to guard / half guard: Green (2) vs (2) Dubs Dubs actively working from the bottom here. Still in half guard, Green seems content to control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Green has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Score +3 for passing guard: Green (5) vs (2) Dubs Dubs is controlling an arm, preventing Green from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Dubs looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment. Green is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish. Green's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Dubs defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Green's arms. Green controlling from the back. Green working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Green slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Green seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Dubs for as long as he can get away with. Green continues to stall.
That's six minutes gone in the round. Further stalling from Green. Green tightening his grip on Dubs, looking for the choke. Green has got one arm under Dubs's chin. This could be trouble... Dubs trying to control the other hand but Green gets it free and sqeezes tight - just a matter of time now! Yep, Dubs has tapped out! The fight is over!
