Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious? Halleck looks to clinch so Santos counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Halleck has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it. That's three minutes gone in the round. Santos sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Halleck's guard. Halleck is not content to let Santos control the position. Halleck actively working from the bottom here. Santos is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Santos seems to be working for a kimura but Halleck defends the submission attempt. Santos is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Halleck sees it coming and defends easily. That's four minutes gone in the round. Santos wants to control the pace but Halleck is squirming around nicely. Halleck is wriggling around trying to escape.
Halleck wants to control but Santos is having none of it. Santos has hold of Halleck's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Halleck manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Halleck can't escape the position.
Halleck is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Halleck tries to get back to half guard but can't. Halleck tries to lock up and control but Santos gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Santos with some aggressive grappling here, looking for the finish.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Santos prevents Halleck from getting the reversal. Santos content just to control the position here. Halleck sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Halleck is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Halleck is staying active underneath Santos, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Halleck wants to control but Santos is keeping busy.
Santos takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Halleck wants to control but Santos is keeping busy and won't allow it. Halleck regains full guard. Nicely done. Halleck looking for a triangle here. Santos is fighting it but it looks tight! Halleck pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Santos is tapping out - this one is all over!
