Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Machine Cravens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Matt Carter is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Machine Cravens! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Matt Carter! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Cecil Peabody and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No luck for Cravens with that takedown attempt. Cravens looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Cravens tries to clinch but Carter moves out of range. Cravens ducks right into an uppercut from Carter. Cravens misses with a few strikes there.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Cravens. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Machine Cravens. That's going to take a lot out of him. Carter darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Cravens is trying to get back to full guard. Carter thows a huge punch but Cravens dodges it nicely.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Cravens wants to get back to his feet. Cravens makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Cravens. Cravens wants to stand and escape but Carter is having none of it. Carter lands a couple of decent looking shots. Carter with a flurry of punches that miss. Carter keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Cravens's head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cravens will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Cravens is trying to control the position but Carter postures up. Cravens working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Carter doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Carter manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Cravens is breathing heavily. Carter cracks Cravens with a solid left hand. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Carter scoring with some ground and pound. Carter works over Cravens with some ground and pound from guard. Cravens bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Carter's guard. Carter wants to sweep but no luck. Carter looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Cravens has picked Carter up and slammed him! Carter can't keep hold of the triangle and Cravens manages to pass to side control! Carter is looking to reverse the position. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Carter can do anything to dispel that myth. Cravens lands an elbow. Carter strikes from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Carter throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land. Carter tries to bench press Cravens off him but Cravens keeps the position. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Cravens shoots and misses letting Carter counter with a right hand. Cravens throws a head kick but Carter moves out of range.
Cravens lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Carter circles away quickly and effectively. Cravens tries to close the distance and clinch but Carter swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. "I don't think so" says Carter as he avoids it easily. Cravens misses with a takedown and Carter counters with a stiff right hand. Nice straight punches there by Carter. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Carter. Cravens checks a leg kick nicely. Cravens shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Carter feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Carter landing with the ground and pound. Carter stands and steps away. Cravens gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cravens wants to clinch up but Carter keeps it at a distance. Cravens misses with a takedown attempt and Carter counters with a lovely straight right hand! Carter lands a two punch combo.
Carter throws a low kick but it's checked well by Cravens. Cravens with a poor takedown and Carter decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Cravens's guard. Carter stopping the sweep attempt from Cravens. Carter lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Cravens is trying to control the position but Carter postures up. Cravens wants to stand up but Carter is controlling him. Cravens wants to sweep here but Carter controlling him for the moment. Carter keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Cravens's head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Carter lands a couple of elbows. Cravens keeping moving, preventing Carter from controlling successfully.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Danga de danga de dang - Cravens scores with a four punch combination! Cravens fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Cravens lands with a slapping head kick. Cravens tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Carter shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Cravens had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Carter is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Cravens Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Carter's back instead. Cravens scores with punches and elbows. Carter just trying to survive but Cravens is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish. Cravens is looking to control Carter but Carter is wriggling around and keeping busy. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Matt Carter dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Excellent takedown into side control there by Cravens. Carter misses with a strike from the bottom. Cravens passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Carter! Carter bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Carter must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Cravens manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Carter manages to get himself to full guard.
Cravens in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Cravens stopping the sweep attempt from Carter. Carter is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Matt Carter has got the better of the ground game so far. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Carter is trying to keep Cravens in close.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Cravens accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cravens won't allow Carter to sweep him here. Carter has momentary wrist control but Cravens slips an elbow through the middle. Cravens trying to control the position from guard on top but Carter is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Cravens shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Carter connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Carter avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

A left lands for Carter. Carter lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Cravens walks into a left hand. Carter bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Cravens misses with a takedown attempt enabling Carter to counter with a crisp jab. Cravens gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Carter.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Carter's corner calls for a 1-2. Carter obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Carter lands a right hook to the body.
Carter shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Carter showed some decent athleticism there. Cravens wants to get back to his feet.
Carter looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Cravens with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Cravens looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Carter is thwarting Cravens's attempts to control the position. Carter working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Carter prevents Cravens from standing back up.

Machine Cravens seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Carter lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Carter takes one on the button. Carter avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Cravens gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Carter counters with a nice body shot. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Machine Cravens. That's going to take a lot out of him. Carter feints and as Cravens raises his hands in defense, Carter changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Cravens thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Carter chips away with some ground and pound. Cravens escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Carter gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Carter really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cravens. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Cravens looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Carter puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Cravens is trying to maintain the position but Carter is very close to passing his half guard. Carter is pressing down on Cravens's thigh, looking to free his foot. Cravens is holding on for now. Cravens flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Carter lands with a punch from half guard. Cravens is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Carter pulls his head out easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Matt Carter will probably get the nod - 10:9. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Cravens lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Carter backwards. Cravens's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Cravens misses with a takedown attempt and Carter counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Carter drives through with a takedown into guard. Cravens manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Cravens prevents Carter from getting the reversal. Cravens fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Cravens lands a nice shot to the head. Cravens postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Carter looks a forlorn figure.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Cravens cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Cravens misses with a head shot. Carter swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing. Carter blocking the ground and pound. Cravens prevents Carter from getting the reversal. Cravens has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Cravens blocks Carter's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom. Cravens with the ground and pound from mount. A nice elbow there by Cravens. Cravens thowing shots but they're missing. Carter throwing hammer fists to the chest of Cravens. What's that going to do exactly? Cravens in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Cravens lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Cravens with a couple of short strikes. Carter throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. Matt Carter is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Cravens avoids the attempt from Carter to control. Carter is in all sorts of trouble here.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Cravens wants to finish this one by submission but Carter is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Cravens. Carter tries to hold on but Cravens postures up. Cravens lands a big elbow. Cravens lands with some strikes. Carter wants to control but Cravens is having none of it. Carter is trying desperately to improve position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Cravens sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Cravens breaks from Carter's wrist control and lands an elbow. Cravens throws some wild stikes that Carter manages to avoid easily.
And that's the end of the fight! Machine Cravens showed his dominance in that final round. I think Carter has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
