Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Simeon Carter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Reggie Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Chad Campbell and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carter shoots in for a takedown but Jackson shows good takedown defense.
Jackson avoids the body shot from Carter.
Carter misses with a takedown attempt - Jackson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Carter fails to land the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Simeon Carter. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Carter shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Jackson as he avoids it easily.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Jackson takes a little break here. Carter wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Jackson decides to stand up, so the ref orders Carter to his feet.

Jackson is working for a guillotine from mount but Carter frees his head quite easily.

Jackson is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Carter is surviving well by controlling Jackson's body position as best he can.

Jackson closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Jackson lands in his opponent's guard.
Carter wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Jackson is now in half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Carter is looking to improve his position.

Carter is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Carter misses with some strikes from the bottom.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Carter wants to get back to his feet.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Carter shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Jackson counters with a nice double leg into side control. Carter won't be happy with that.

Jackson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Carter knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Jackson works to advance to full mount. Carter defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Reggie Jackson has got the better of the ground game so far.

Carter tries to hold on but Jackson pushes him away.
Jackson lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Jackson manages to capitalize on a mistake by Carter to take his back!

Jackson doesn't have the hooks in and Carter manages to turn into his guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Jackson is pulling down on Carter's head. It's preventing any offense from Carter, at least for the moment.
Jackson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Jackson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Carter doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Carter manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Carter postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Reggie Jackson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



Carter shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Jackson's guard.
Jackson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Carter is one step ahead there.
Carter trying to control but Jackson is working from the bottom.
Carter with a flurry of punches that miss.
Jackson seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Jackson has his feet on Carter's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Carter throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Jackson. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Jackson does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Carter misses with a body kick.

Jackson scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Jackson shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Jackson was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Carter is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Jackson prevents Carter from getting the reversal.

Jackson circles away from the clinch attempt.
Carter misses with a takedown

and Jackson counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Well Jackson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
