Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Dwalin Broadaxe (ranked 2653 p4p, 3674 weight class) and Gabriel Soares (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gabriel Soares will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 13 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dwalin Broadaxe! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 6 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Gabriel Soares! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Alec Ball and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Broadaxe tries to clinch but Soares moves out of range. Soares wants to counter the offense by Broadaxe and move into the clinch position. Gabriel Soares seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Soares throws a shot from downtown. Broadaxe moves away and avoids it. Broadaxe shoots for a takedown but Soares saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Broadaxe sets himself, and Soares steps forward looking for the clinch! Broadaxe avoids it this time. Soares throws a hook but Broadaxe avoids it easily. Soares scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Broadaxe fails in his attempt to clinch. Broadaxe shoots in looking for a takedown but Soares manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Broadaxe's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Soares wants to counter the offense by Broadaxe and move into the clinch position. Soares misses with a hook
and Broadaxe counters with a shoot takedown. Soares fights it but they end up in guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Broadaxe content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Soares keeping moving, preventing Broadaxe from controlling successfully. Soares trying to keep a closed guard but Broadaxe is proving a slippery customer.
That's one minute gone in the round. Broadaxe trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Broadaxe has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Soares has his hands on Broadaxe's head, controlling the position. Broadaxe knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Soares on the ground. Soares had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Broadaxe defends it easily. Soares working a defensive guard here.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Broadaxe stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Soares swivels though and keeps the full guard. Broadaxe might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Soares is trying to control the position but Broadaxe postures up. Soares is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Broadaxe is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Broadaxe trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Broadaxe avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Broadaxe is working Soares over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Broadaxe trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Broadaxe working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Soares's head. Soares keeping moving, preventing Broadaxe from controlling successfully. Broadaxe is fighting to break Soares's control of his arms but Soares is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Soares keeping full guard, as Broadaxe tries to pass. Broadaxe forces his way into half guard. Soares wants to improve his position but Broadaxe is controlling well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Broadaxe scoring with strikes to the body and head. Broadaxe thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Soares's head. Broadaxe is just content to waste time from the top position. Soares takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Soares avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Broadaxe trying to control but Soares is working from the bottom. Soares looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Broadaxe passes into half guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Soares is staying active underneath Broadaxe, who seems content to just control the action from this position. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Dwalin Broadaxe dominated that round. That's time! Broadaxe's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Soares changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Soares closes the distance and pushes Broadaxe back into the cage. Soares lands on the inside with an uppercut. Soares prevents the takedown attempt.
Soares has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Broadaxe uses from the top position. Soares is looking for a triangle but Broadaxe pushes his legs off easily.
Broadaxe connects with a couple of short punches. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Broadaxe trying to control but Soares is working from the bottom. Broadaxe looking to sit in guard and control but Soares gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Broadaxe throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Soares escapes and throws Broadaxe's legs to the side, diving into side control!
That's one minute gone in the round. Soares blocks the strikes from Broadaxe.
Broadaxe prevents Soares from improving position. Broadaxe is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Soares off and has taken his back! Broadaxe has the hooks in. Soares is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. Broadaxe is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Soares has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Soares trying to control the position but Broadaxe manages to sink in the hooks. Broadaxe seems to be going for a rear naked choke. He has an arm under Soares's chin but Soares turns very nicely into Broadaxe's guard. Good BJJ skills being displayed there by Soares.
Soares stands and throws Broadaxe's legs to the side, diving into side control. Soares is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Broadaxe knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Soares advances nicely into full mount. Soares wants to control the pace but Broadaxe is squirming around nicely. Broadaxe tries to reverse the position but Soares maintains control. Soares manages to capitalize on a mistake by Broadaxe to take his back! Dwalin Broadaxe overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Soares has the hooks in. Broadaxe is starting to panic. He's trying to push off one of the legs but he's left his neck open to attack. Soares passes his arm under Broadaxe's neck and tightens up a rear naked choke! This one is surely all over! Yes, Broadaxe taps!
