Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Meguru Takayanagi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Tapani Kangas!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Yuuki Gou and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kangas dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Takayanagi shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Takayanagi looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kangas is fending him off so far but Takayanagi persists. Nope, Kangas circles away and we're back to standing.
Takayanagi backing away here, and Kangas unleashes a leg kick that just misses.
Kangas thuds a left hand into Takayanagi's body.
Takayanagi wants to clinch.
Kangas throws a counter combo.
Kangas getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Takayanagi closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Takayanagi shoots and misses
and Kangas makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Takayanagi takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Kangas works over Takayanagi's head and body with a nice combination.
Takayanagi looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kangas cracks a nice hook into Takayanagi's ribs.
Kangas stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kangas wants it to stay on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Meguru Takayanagi. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Takayanagi takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Takayanagi will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Takayanagi throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Takayanagi throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kangas's waist but Kangas gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Takayanagi off to one side.
Takayanagi is breathing heavily.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Kangas! Takayanagi is out on his feet! Kangas rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Takayanagi is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Takayanagi is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tapani Kangas!
In defeat, Meguru Takayanagi stepped up to the mic, saying 'Dammit'.
