The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Zan changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ferkingstad tries to avoid it but Zan manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ferkingstad to the ground. Ferkingstad escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Zan is trying hard to land a takedown here. Ferkingstad sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Zan feints and as Ferkingstad raises his hands in defense, Zan changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
