Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gord Pettinger (ranked 2582 p4p, 3859 weight class) and Charlie Stone (ranked 131 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Gord Pettinger! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Charlie Stone! The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Winston Alpacca and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pettinger misses with a shot to the body and Stone counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Stone walks into a jab. Stone misses with a lunging right hand
and Pettinger counters with a left to the body. Pettinger connects with a body shot that sends Stone's belly button to the back. Stone misses with a body punch
and Pettinger counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Stone misses with a looping left. The crowd cheers as Pettinger lands an impressive looking overhand right. Stone doesn't seem phased though. Stone ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Pettinger moves away. A counter left hand to the body from Pettinger misses its target. Pettinger misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Stone counters with a lovely straight right hand! Stone takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Pettinger jabbing away but nothing is landing. Pettinger scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Pettinger's corner calls for a 1-2. Pettinger obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Gord Pettinger seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Stone steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Pettinger.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pettinger rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Pettinger takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. A looping hook to the body misses from Stone. Pettinger does a little dance to reset his feet. A shot to the body from Pettinger misses and Stone counters with a right hand to the body. Pettinger throws an ugly left hook that misses
enabling Stone to counter with a crisp jab. Stone looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Pettinger throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Stone uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Pettinger.
Stone walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Stone takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Pettinger really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Pettinger throws a lazy uppercut
and Stone counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Pettinger is rocked! Stone takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Pettinger looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Pettinger looks to land a right hand but Stone moved out of range. Stone takes one to the side of the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! A looping hook to the body misses from Stone. Pettinger does a little dance to reset his feet. Pettinger misses with a body punch
enabling Stone to counter with a crisp jab. Pettinger misses with a left hand and Stone counters with a crisp right hand that drops Pettinger! Stone lets Pettinger back up to his feet, looking for a finish! Oh Pettinger is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Stone lands a big uppercut and this one is all over! His foe lies motionless on the canvas - a massive one punch knockout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Charlie Stone!
