Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Peter Lorimer (ranked 2385 p4p, 2370 weight class) and Meinrad Apfelbaum (ranked 353 p4p, 351 weight class). Meinrad Apfelbaum has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Peter Lorimer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Meinrad Apfelbaum!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Dirk Anderson and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lorimer feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Apfelbaums jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Apfelbaum shoots in looking for a takedown. Lorimer tries to sprawl out of it but Apfelbaum keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Lorimer manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Apfelbaum shoots in and bounces Lorimer off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Lorimer wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Apfelbaum manages to pass to side control.
Lorimer moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Lorimer really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lorimer lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Peter Lorimer will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Lorimer has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.
