Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Dexter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Craig Quinell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mark Dexter looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Mark Dexter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Craig Quinell!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Chris Edwards and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dexter is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Quinell throws a hook to the side of Dexter's head but Dexter sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Quinell misses with a looping right.
Quinell throws a nice looking combination but Dexter bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Quinell cracks Dexter with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.


It looks like Mark Dexter has been cut.
No joy there for Dexter, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Quinell throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Dexter.
Quinell throws a body punch but Dexter moves out of range.
Quinell scores with a sloppy right hand. Dexter should have avoided that one.
Craig Quinell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Quinell rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Dexter moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Quinell is really trying hard to get back to his feet.

Quinell really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dexter. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Dexter is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Quinell defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Quinell is trying to get back to his feet but Dexter has full control of the position and if anything, Quinell has just worked his way into a worse spot.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

and Dexter makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Quinell really felt that one!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Quinell can do anything to dispel that myth.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Quinell fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Dexter manages to avoid it.

Dexter postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Dexter accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Dexter drops back, looking for a kneebar! Quinell looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Quinell looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Quinell!

Dexter shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Quinell but Quinell pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Quinell has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Quinell wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Dexter manages to pass to side control.

Dexter is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Quinell defends it well.

That was a close second round but I would say that Mark Dexter will probably get the nod.

Dexter shoots in looking for a takedown. Quinell tries to sprawl out of it but Dexter keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Quinell manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Quinell lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Dexter shoots in and drives through. Quinell sprawls well.
Dexter tries to score a power double leg takedown but Quinell sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Dexter somewhat.

Craig Quinell comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Quinell has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
