Boxaaja is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Dark Side - Blind Channel. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jon Fred! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Paul Boxaaja! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Daniel Franklin and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fred connects with a single shot there. Fred dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Boxaaja slips a straight right by Fred. Boxaaja ducks under a wild hook from Fred. We've been informed that Boxaaja has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Boxaaja gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Boxaaja lands a nice shot to the body.

Jon Fred seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A right-left combo lands from Fred.
It looks like Paul Boxaaja has been cut. Boxaaja moves away from the strike by Fred. This has been an exciting period of action! Boxaaja looks to score with a jab to the body but Fred is just out of range. Boxaaja uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Fred. Boxaaja throws a good cross that connects.
Boxaaja throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Boxaaja connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Fred sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Boxaaja scores with a sloppy right hand. Fred should have avoided that one. Fred misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Boxaaja.

That's one minute gone in the round. Boxaaja walks into a stiff left hand from Fred. Boxaaja walks straight into a right hand from Fred - that's dropped him! Fred jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Boxaaja from any more punishment! Boxaaja complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:10 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Jon Fred!
