The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice sprawl there from Schweidler as Holmen shoots in. Schweidler looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Schweidler misses with a looping left. Schweidler misses with a takedown attempt and Holmen counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Schweidler's guard now. That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Holmen is not content to let Schweidler control the position. Holmen seems a little lost for a moment, as Schweidler dominates the positioning.
Despite being in the dominant position, Rene Schweidler just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Schweidler lands a jab-cross combination. Schweidler looks to land a left hand but Holmen moved out of range nicely. A punch lands to the side of Holmen 's head but he takes it in his stride. Jab, jab by Schweidler - just one landing. Sami Holmen has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Holmen throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
And that's the end of the fight! Rene Schweidler comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Schweidler has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
