Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mark Jones (ranked 4405 p4p, 5714 weight class) and Ilias Khan (ranked 0 p4p, 499 weight class). Ilias Khan told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mark Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ilias Khan!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Luis Engracia and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Khan quickly recovers to half guard.
Khan looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Jones escapes and gets back to his feet.
Jones throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Khan tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Jones is in Khan's guard.
Jones controls from within his opponent's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jones missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Jones seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jones lands a couple of decent looking shots.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Khan keeping full guard, as Jones tries to pass.

Jones slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Jones connects with a couple of short punches.
Jones sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Jones is working Khan over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Khan is rocked!
Jones arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Khan's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Mark Jones!
