Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kenny Wells (ranked 5114 p4p, 4402 weight class) and Slop Quickley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Kenny Wells! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Slop Quickley! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Yves DeLean and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Quickley shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Wells sprawls well. Wells wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Quickley gets slowly back to his feet. Quickley drives through and clinches with Wells against the cage.
Wells is looking to break free of the clinch but Quickley has double underhooks. Quickley working some nice short punches in the clinch. Quickley pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. A frustrated look appears on Wells's face as he tries to break the clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Quickley tries for a takedown but Wells manages to get underhooks.
Quickley can't get the takedown.
Kenny Wells has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Slop Quickley. Wells wants to break free but Quickley has control.

Quickley tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Wells is trying to push Quickley away but Quickley has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Wells has had enough of the clinch but Quickley keeps him there for the moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Quickley pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Quickley tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Wells defends well and Quickley ends up having to push Wells into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Wells falls off balance throwing a combination
and Quickley counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Wells escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Wells lands with a nice combination. Quickley backs away looking to recover.
It looks like Slop Quickley has been cut. Kenny Wells seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Quickley walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Quickley closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Quickley keeps control of Wells as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Wells manages to break the clinch.
The fighters circling - Wells throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Quickley tries for a takedown but Wells sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Quickley clinches with his opponent.

Wells is trying to push Quickley away but Quickley has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Wells escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Wells cracks Quickley with an open hand slap. Wells pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Quickley feints a counter leg kick. Quickley moves into the clinch. Quickley has Wells pressed against the cage, preventing Wells from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Wells manages to break the clinch.
Quickley changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Wells tries to avoid it but Quickley manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Wells to the ground. Wells escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Quickley should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Wells throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Wells throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Quickley looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Wells is fending him off so far but Quickley persists. Nope, Wells circles away and we're back to standing. Quickley looks winded! Wells's jab looks to have found its range, popping Quickley under the eye. Wells drops Quickley with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Quickley looks back up at him and smiles so Wells waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Quickley is rocked! Wells connects with a superb combination that knocks Quickley out cold! The referee charges across the mat and tackles Wells before he can land any more shots to the unconscious Quickley!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Kenny Wells! Kenny Wells seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
