PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Iwin Alot (ranked 3678 p4p, 3782 weight class) and Roel Kreshnik (ranked 291 p4p, 301 weight class). Alot kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Return of the mack. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Iwin Alot!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Roel Kreshnik!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Johanna Lukiainen and Anni Minnemäki.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alot misses with a takedown
and Kreshnik connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Nice takedown defense from Kreshnik. No joy for Alot on that attempt.
Kreshnik lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Kreshnik throws a looping overhand right but Alot ducks down to avoid it.
Alot throws a big counter combination but Kreshnik scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Kreshnik throws a body shot but no joy.
Kreshnik dips to his left and cracks Alot with an uppercut!
Kreshnik connects with the punch.
Kreshnik lands a slapping body shot.
Alot lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Alot takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Alot uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Kreshnik.
Alot ducks right into an uppercut from Kreshnik.

It looks like Iwin Alot has been cut.
Kreshnik takes a swing at Alot's ribcage but misses.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Alot.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Iwin Alot. That's going to take a lot out of him.

That's one minute gone in the round.
No joy there for Alot, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Kreshnik throws out a counter right but Alot avoids it with no problem.
Alot lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Kreshnik circles away quickly and effectively.
Alot misses with a double jab.
Alot will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Alot closes the distance and clinches.
I was talking to Alot's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Alot misses with a short punch on the inside.
Kreshnik lands a nice uppercut.
Kreshnik scores with a nice hook to the head.
Kreshnik misses with some punches.
Kreshnik pushes Alot back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Kreshnik lands a body shot.
Alot lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Alot is trying to push Kreshnik away but Kreshnik has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Alot tries to pull guard but Kreshnik won't allow it.

Kreshnik escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kreshnik lands a jab.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Alot with a lazy takedown attempt
and Kreshnik counters with a huge left! Alot is in big trouble! He's backing up but Kreshnik isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Alot from any more damage. A dominating finish by Kreshnik!
