Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ngou Bapu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Melvin Manhoef (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ngou Bapu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Melvin Manhoef!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Manhoef gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Manhoef wants to stand and escape but Bapu is having none of it.
Manhoef wants to sweep here but Bapu controlling him for the moment.
Bapu loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Manhoef is trying to hold Bapu in close to prevent damage but Bapu has managed to pass into half guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Bapu decides to stand up, so the ref orders Manhoef to his feet.
Manhoef looks gassed!

Bapu closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Bapu seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Manhoef for as long as he can get away with.

Bapu's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Ngou Bapu just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Manhoef tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Bapu paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Bapu gets to his feet - Manhoef follows without any prompting.
Manhoef throws a right and a left that Bapu avoids nicely.
Manhoef has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Bapu gets a takedown into half guard.
Bapu is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Manhoef on the wrong end of a nice hook.

Bapu rushes Manhoef and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Manhoef is looking to control Bapu's arms but Bapu gets an underhook and turns him. Now Manhoef has his back to the cage.
Manhoef lands with a left to the head.

Manhoef breaks the clinch.

Bapu feints and as Manhoef raises his hands in defense, Bapu changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Bapu controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Bapu has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Manhoef is breathing heavily.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Bapu jumps into guard, dragging Manhoef to the mat.
Bapu is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Bapu takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!



Manhoef gets caught flat footed, as Bapu shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Bapu lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Bapu postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Ngou Bapu overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Bapu slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Bapu is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Manhoef will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Manhoef parries the strikes from Bapu easily there. Bapu is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Manhoef to escape.
Manhoef takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Bapu tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Bapu has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Bapu is working to tighten is grip on Manhoef's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Manhoef has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Bapu is really squeezing tight and eventually Manhoef passes out! Bapu breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:48 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Ngou Bapu!
