Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Oliver Watts!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mike Castro!
The judges for this bout are Ron Honeybunn, Hugh Johnson and Topper Green.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Castro takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Castro fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Watts checks it well.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Watts checks a leg kick.
A low kick from Castro misses
and Watts counters with a lovely shot to the body.
That kick from Castro tenderised Watts's leg. Watts is trying to keep his angry face on.
Castro takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Castro tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Castro motions for Watts to come forward. Castro throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
An attempted straight right counter from Watts misses the target.
Watts moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Castro has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Watts can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Watts is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Castro creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Watts's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Watts, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
