Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Maxwell Redmond (ranked 3567 p4p, 3595 weight class) and Craig Simonsgaurd (ranked 408 p4p, 410 weight class). Craig Simonsgaurd is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Maxwell Redmond!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Craig Simonsgaurd!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Daniel Franklin and Santiago Holmes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Redmond wants to clinch but Simonsgaurd slips to the side
and Simonsgaurd counters with a takedown into side control.
Simonsgaurd working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Simonsgaurd is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Redmond knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Simonsgaurd has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Redmond!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Redmond is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Simonsgaurd is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Redmond is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Redmond flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Simonsgaurd anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Redmond and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Simonsgaurd slips an arm under Redmond chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Simonsgaurd has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Simonsgaurd is squeezing on Redmond like an anaconda would it's prey. Redmond fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Craig Simonsgaurd!
