Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Bob Babcock! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Howard Webb! The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Bart Greer and Santiago Holmes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jab from Webb. A bone on bone clash there as Webb blocks the leg kick.
Webb's corner calls for a 1-2. Webb obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. A jab from Webb does it's job there. Babcock chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Webb swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Babcock looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger. Babcock takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Babcock scores with a takedown into Webb's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Babcock trying to control but Webb is working from the bottom. Babcock slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Babcock postures up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Webb keeping moving, preventing Babcock from controlling successfully. Babcock wants to pass the guard but Webb is keeping the position. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Babcock accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Babcock wants to control from the top but Webb keeps moving.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Webb throws a body shot but no joy. Jab from Webb. Babcock lands with a good body shot. Babcock looks to throw a body kick and Webb counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Babcock takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Babcock shoots in for a double leg but Webb sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Webb is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Webb lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Webb lands a glancing blow to the side of Babcock's head.
Babcock is rocked! Babcock takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Oh Babcock is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Webb wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Babcock is breathing heavily. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Webb clobbers Babcock with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Webb ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Webb drops Babcock with a huge uppercut! Babcock drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes. Webb is raining down punches and the ref stops the fight! This one is all over!
