Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Forrest Florian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Guilherme Henrique (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Henrique is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Facção Central- A Guerra Não Vai Acabar. Guilherme Henrique told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Forrest Florian!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Guilherme Henrique!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Edson Gomes and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Henrique throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Florian's waist but Florian gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Henrique off to one side.
Henrique fails with the takedown.
Henrique drives through and clinches with Florian against the cage.
Henrique is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Henrique tightens his grip and picks Florian up, before dumping him to the ground. Florian manages to land in guard.
Henrique wants to control from the top but Florian keeps moving.
Florian looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Henrique wants to stand but Florian is controlling his posture from full guard.
Florian controls Henrique momentarily but Henrique frees himself.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Florian is on top in guard.

Florian can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Henrique is looking to escape.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Henrique is trying desperately to improve position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Henrique is squirming around, avoiding Florian's attempts to control the action.
Henrique manages to control the position for a moment.
Henrique tries to hold on but Florian postures up.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Florian takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Florian closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Florian lands in his opponent's guard.

Florian is taking a breather. Henrique says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Henrique has his takedown stuffed
so Florian counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Florian shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Henrique's guard.

Henrique has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Florian is working away from the top position though.

Henrique wants to control but Florian is keeping busy.
Henrique wants to improve his position but Florian is controlling well.
Henrique looks like he's trying to stand up.
Florian passes to side control.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Florian seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Henrique for as long as he can get away with.
Henrique can't do much from the bottom here.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Forrest Florian dominated that second round.
That's time! Florian's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Henrique shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Florian counters with a shoot takedown. Henrique fights it but they end up in guard.
Florian postures up.
Florian controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Florian pushes down on Henrique's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Florian stands up out of the half guard.
Henrique shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Henrique escapes and gets back to his feet.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Forrest Florian.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Florian, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
