The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spanner tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Argento throwing a counter right hand but Spanner manages to avoid it.
Argento looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Spanner!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Argento looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Spanner takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
It looks like Bleeding Spanner has been cut.
Argento lands a nice forearm strike.
Spanner tries to improve position but can't.
Spanner takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Spanner tries to bench press Argento off him but Argento keeps the position.
Argento has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Spanner takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Spanner tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Argento has an Americana. Spanner didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Argento is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Argento hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

A relieved looking Alexus Argento thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
Bleeding Spanner was interviewed post fight and said 'That was fucking bullshit!'.
