Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bobo Peanerbutt (ranked 4290 p4p, 25612 weight class) and Bas Rutten (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Peanerbutt comes to the cage accompanied by Back in the 90s. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Bobo Peanerbutt! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Bas Rutten! The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Santiago Holmes and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Peanerbutt tries for a takedown but Rutten circles away easily and Rutten counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Rutten. Rutten manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Rutten trying to control the position.
Peanerbutt has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Peanerbutt postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Rutten is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Peanerbutt, into his guard. Peanerbutt pulls Rutten in to control the position. Peanerbutt's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Rutten showing good wrestling skills to control the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Peanerbutt is looking for a triangle but Rutten pushes his legs off easily.

Peanerbutt looking to hit a scissor sweep but Rutten is one step ahead there. Rutten trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Rutten wants to stand but Peanerbutt is controlling his posture from full guard. Peanerbutt has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Rutten has passed into side control.
Rutten tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rutten happy to just control the position for now. Peanerbutt is trying to get back to half guard. Peanerbutt is working hard here to advance position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rutten landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Rutten is chipping away with strikes.
Rutten is looking to take a break and control but Peanerbutt is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Peanerbutt tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Rutten wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rutten wants to lay and pray for a moment but Peanerbutt keeps working. Rutten stands up and we're back to a striking position. Peanerbutt fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Peanerbutt is breathing heavily. Peanerbutt fails to land the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bobo Peanerbutt. That's going to take a lot out of him. Rutten lands a jab-cross combination. Rutten shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Rutten showed some decent athleticism there. Rutten seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Peanerbutt is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Rutten pulls his head out easily. Peanerbutt is in trouble now - Rutten has advanced to mount! Rutten lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Rutten controlling his opponent. Rutten breaks from Peanerbutt's wrist control and lands an elbow. Rutten tries to control but Peanerbutt wriggling away. Rutten tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Peanerbutt is working to get back to half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Rutten working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Peanerbutt turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Rutten off and cradles Peanerbutt's limp body as Rutten celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Bas Rutten!
