The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Chad Campbell and David Schapiro.


The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.

McDonald wants to sweep here but Kersikov controlling him for the moment.

We've been hearing good reports from Kersikov's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

McDonald has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Kersikov is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for McDonald.

Kersikov seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down McDonald for as long as he can get away with.
Kersikov prevents McDonald from getting the reversal.
Kersikov wants to take his opponent's back but McDonald doesn't allow it.

Kersikov's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Kersikov has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
McDonald bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
