The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Hitoshi rushes Hussein and presses him up against the ropes. Hitoshi is looking to take this one to the mat. Hitoshi gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Hussein (0) vs (2) Hitoshi Hussein regains full guard. Nicely done. Hussein pulls Hitoshi in close to prevent any damage. Hitoshi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hussein swivels though and keeps the full guard. Hitoshi drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Hussein dives on top into guard. Score +2 for sweep to guard / half guard: Hussein (2) vs (2) Hitoshi Hussein preventing the sweep. Hussein will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hitoshi looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Hussein puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Hitoshi has a hand on Hussein's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Hussein takes advantage of the position though and mounts him! Score +3 for passing guard: Hussein (5) vs (2) Hitoshi Hitoshi wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back. Score +3 for taking back: Hussein (8) vs (2) Hitoshi Hitoshi has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hitoshi preventing the rear naked choke attempt from Hussein. Hussein is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Hitoshi with him. Hitoshi is trying to defend but Hussein has an arm under the chin now! Hitoshi grimaces and is forced to tap out!
