The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. William moves into the clinch. William is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Roberts pulls him back up using the underhooks. William jumps guard and drags Roberts to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Roberts trying to control but William is working from the bottom. William is trying to keep Roberts in close.
Roberts knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for William on the ground. Roberts pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. William is keeping the position for now. William working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Roberts doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Roberts manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Roberts trying to control but William is working from the bottom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. William has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. William's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
That's one minute gone in the round. William escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Roberts gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. William looking to sweep here. No luck so far. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. William is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Score +2 for sweep to guard / half guard: Roberts (0) vs (2) William William is looking for a kimura here.
William is working for a kimura but Roberts is defending it quite comfortably.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Roberts wants to control but William is keeping busy.
William maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Roberts could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but William has cracked it and Roberts is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by William!
