This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the welterweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 11 wins and 5 losses; Abdelrahman Camara! And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 26 wins and 22 losses; Chan Siam! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Percy O'Donnell and Don Winkell.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Siam moves into the clinch successfully.
Camara has Siam pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Camara pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Siam tumbling to the mat - Camara dives into Siam's guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Siam looking to hit a scissor sweep but Camara is one step ahead there.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Camara is figuring out what he wants to do next. Siam is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Siam is concentrating on defense, preventing Camara from advancing position. Camara tries to pass to full mount but Siam defends it. Siam wants to control but Camara is keeping busy and won't allow it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Camara controlling the pace. Siam is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Siam regains full guard. Nicely done. Camara controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Siam looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Camara is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Siam looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Camara puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Camara stalling. Camara wants to free his trapped foot but Siam is holding on for dear life with his legs. Siam felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Siam regains full guard. Nicely done. Siam looking to hit a scissor sweep but Camara is one step ahead there. Camara is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
That's six minutes gone in the round. Siam is pulling down on Camara's head. It's preventing any offense from Camara, at least for the moment. Camara won't allow Siam to sweep him here. Siam has Camara pulled in close to control his posture. Siam being controlled here, momentarily.
That's seven minutes gone in the round. Camara is fighting to break Siam's control of his arms but Siam is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Siam wants to sweep but no luck. Siam working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Camara doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Camara manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Camara is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

That's nine minutes gone in the round. Camara slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Score +3 for passing guard: Camara (5) vs (0) Siam We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Siam tries to buck Camara off but Camara is having none of it. Siam is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Camara's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Camara looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
That's ten minutes gone in the round. Siam is trying to maintain the position but Camara is very close to passing his half guard. Siam is pressing down on Camara's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Siam is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

That's twelve minutes gone in the round. Siam is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Camara controls the position. Siam manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Siam is looking to improve his position.

That's thirteen minutes gone in the round. Camara content to control rather than advance. Siam moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
