Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Joe Moon (ranked 4958 p4p, 23471 weight class) and Kent Straight (ranked 502 p4p, 569 weight class). Joe Moon has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Joe Moon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Kent Straight! The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Konstantin Menshow and Vladimir Khabensky.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Moon throws a series of punches but Straight moves out of range. Moon takes the fight into the clinch. Moon works on Straight's body with a couple of short punches. Moon is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Moon displaying some good clinch control by pressing Straight up against the cage. Straight wants to break free but Moon has control.
Straight has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Straight takes an elbow to the temple. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Moon gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Straight can do anything to dispel that myth. Moon is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Moon preventing the sweep. Moon sitting in guard, not really doing much.

Straight wants to stand up but Moon is controlling him. Straight is trying to control the position from the bottom.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Moon landing with the ground and pound. Moon throws a big right hand that misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Moon cracks Straight with a solid left hand. Moon stops Straight from standing up. Moon showing good wrestling skills to control the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Moon lands a couple of digs. Straight trying to strike off his back.
Moon has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Moon lands a couple of decent looking shots. Straight has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Moon is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Straight. Moon in side control lands a decent elbow.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Straight takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Moon looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Moon looks up at the clock and then as Straight takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Moon smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Moon wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Straight, who protects the arm well. Moon is chipping away with strikes.
Moon is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Straight has escaped the position, nice work there. Straight is trying to get back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Moon misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Straight tries to buck Moon off but Moon is having none of it. Moon tries for a kimura but Straight is defending well. Straight is looking for a sweep. Moon decides to stand up, so the ref orders Straight to his feet. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Straight fails to land with a series of punches.
Moon half committed to a counter leg kick. Straight looks winded! Nice uppercut there from Moon. Moon moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Joe Moon dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Straight shoots and misses and Moon holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Moon breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Straight fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Moon sprawls well initially but Straight persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Moon is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Straight can do to turn this around? Moon is not content to let Straight control the position. Moon is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Straight's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Straight's back! Straight staying busy and making it hard for Moon to control. A bit of a pause in the action here. Moon controlling the positon. Moon tightening his grip on Straight, looking for the choke. Moon is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Moon's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
Moon is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Straight knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Straight for a finish. Straight just trying to survive but Moon is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Straight is trying to get back to his feet but Moon has full control of the position and if anything, Straight has just worked his way into a worse spot. Moon softening up his opponent with strikes here.

Moon is looking for the choke from the back position but Straight is controlling his hands well. Moon is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Straight has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Moon is trying to stick to Straight's back but Straight is turning into Moon. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Moon's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Straight. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Moon is on top in guard.
Moon gets to his feet - Straight follows without any prompting. Moon closes the distance and clinches. Moon scores with a shot to the side of Straight's head. Moon pulls Straight into guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Straight trying to control the position from guard on top but Moon is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Straight pushing down on Moon's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Straight is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Straight lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Moon is trying to get back to full guard. Joe Moon overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Straight connects with a nice short shot to Moon's temple. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Straight is in close to Moon's body, working some short punches and elbows. Moon utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Straight throwing strikes but missing. Moon is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ground and pound from Moon. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Straight is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Moon pulls his head out easily. Straight is trying to control but can't.
That's one minute gone in the round. Moon is just content to waste time from the top position. Straight takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Moon lands a couple of decent looking shots. Moon looking to pass the guard. Straight looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Moon chips away with some ground and pound. Straight looking for a sweep. Not yet Straight, not yet. Straight isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Moon stacks Straight on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Moon! Moon thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Moon tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Straight taking punishment in the form of punches.
Straight is trying to work for a sweep but Moon has mounted him! Moon controlling the pace for now. Moon can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Straight is looking to escape.

Kent Straight has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Joe Moon is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Moon looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Straight wants to get back to full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Moon is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Straight is just riding it out for now. Moon eventually gives up the hold. Straight has hold of Moon's hands but Moon slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
And that's the end of the fight! Joe Moon showed his dominance in that final round. Well Moon has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
