Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Danu Jaya (ranked 4789 p4p, 4212 weight class) and Jim Lahey (ranked 588 p4p, 563 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jim Lahey!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Sergei Dronov and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lahey misses with a wild body shot.
A punch lands to the side of Lahey 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Jaya scores with a nice right hand.
Lahey lands with a cross.
Lahey throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Jaya shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Lahey on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Jaya throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Lahey looks to land a left hand but Jaya moved out of range nicely.
Jaya pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Lahey jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Lahey throws a right hand that Jaya ducks under and follows up with a left that Jaya also avoids with ease.
Jaya appears to be looking for a counter takedown.

No joy there for Lahey, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

It looked like Jaya was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Lahey.
Lahey fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Jaya on the side of the head.

and Jaya counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Lahey thinking.
Jaya shoots in and drives through. Lahey sprawls well.

Jaya tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Lahey manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jaya stands up over Lahey, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Well, if Jaya is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Jaya wants to pass to mount but Lahey is defending the position.

Jaya is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Lahey sees it coming and defends easily.
Jaya prevents Lahey from standing back up.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Lahey ducks right into an uppercut from Jaya.
Lahey throws a right hand that Jaya ducks under and follows up with a left that Jaya also avoids with ease.
Lahey lands a jab to the head.
Lahey drops his hands momentarily and Jaya takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Jaya darts in looking for a takedown but Lahey gets double underhooks and turns Jaya into the cage.
Jaya is trying to pull guard but Lahey has him pressed against the cage.
Lahey is stalling here.

Jaya has clasped his hands together around Lahey's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Lahey tries to buck Jaya off but Jaya is having none of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jaya slows the pace down.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lahey can do anything to dispel that myth.

Lahey is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Jaya is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
Lahey is wriggling around trying to escape.
Jaya content just to control the position here.

Jaya with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Lahey really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jaya. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
