The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kanne tries for a takedown but Souza sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Souza throws a right and a left that Kanne avoids nicely.

Souza clinches.
Souza scores with an uppercut up the middle.

Souza pulls guard effortlessly.
Kanne looking to sit in guard and control but Souza gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Souza works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Kanne is not content to let Souza control the position.
Souza definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Souza seems to be working for a kimura but Kanne defends the submission attempt.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Souza wants to take a breather but Kanne is having none of it.
Souza prevents Kanne from improving his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kanne is looking to control Souza's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Kanne avoid being mounted?

Kanne is trying to control his opponent's hands. Eventually Souza gets his hands free and sinks in a rear naked choke. For a while it looks like Kanne is going to survive but after struggling valiantly, he eventually has to tap out! Souza is your winner!
