Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Aslan Krabutov (ranked 1737 p4p, 1674 weight class) and Pete Price (ranked 277 p4p, 268 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Aslan Krabutov has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Aslan Krabutov seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Aslan Krabutov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Pete Price! The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Vladimir Khabensky and Konstantin Menshow.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Price throws a one two combo.
It looks like Aslan Krabutov has been cut. Krabutov uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Price. Krabutov changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Price scores with a body shot.
Krabutov shoots in looking for a takedown but Price manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Krabutov's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Price uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Krabutov.
Krabutov darts in looking for a takedown but Price gets double underhooks and turns Krabutov into the cage. Price pulls guard successfully.
Krabutov trying to control the position from guard on top but Price is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Krabutov stopping the sweep attempt from Price. Price pulls Krabutov in close to prevent any damage. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Krabutov is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. No luck for Krabutov with that takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Aslan Krabutov. That's going to take a lot out of him. Price swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Price throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Krabutov fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Price avoids it really well and circles away. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Krabutov. Krabutov lands with a nice body punch. Krabutov uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Price. Price drives through with a takedown into guard.

Krabutov wants to control from the top but Price keeps moving. Price has momentary wrist control but Krabutov slips an elbow through the middle. Krabutov won't allow Price to sweep him here. Krabutov has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Krabutov is looking to take a break and control but Price is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Krabutov working the ground and pound. Krabutov scores with a couple of short elbows. Price tries to bench press Krabutov off him but Krabutov keeps the position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Price wants to control but Krabutov postures up. A lull in the action here. Price is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Krabutov's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Pete Price dominated that round. The cut man is working on Aslan Krabutov's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Price ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Krabutov moves away. Price stuns Krabutov with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Krabutov gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Price. Price throws out a loose jab but Krabutov uses good head movement to avoid it. Price stuffs the takedown. A slow jab from Price misses its intended target. Krabutov attempts a counter takedown but Price avoids it well and moves away. Price has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Price slaps away a takedown attempt from Krabutov, before circling back to the center of the mat. Krabutov throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Price tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Krabutov wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. We've been hearing that Krabutov has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Price takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Price trying to remain calm as Krabutov controls from the top position. Price felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Price is looking to reverse the position. Krabutov moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Price tries to bench press Krabutov off him but Krabutov keeps the position.

Price scores with the left hand. Krabutov knows he should have avoided that one. Pete Price seems to be getting the better of the standup. Price misses with a hook. No, Krabutov has managed to get both his arms back between Price's legs - danger averted. Price keeping moving, preventing Krabutov from controlling successfully. Krabutov stays in close to Price's body and controls the position. Price had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Krabutov defends it easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Krabutov keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Price's head. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Price working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Krabutov doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Krabutov manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Krabutov distracts Price with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Krabutov stays in close to Price's body and controls the position. Krabutov content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Price has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Krabutov is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Price. Aslan Krabutov overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Krabutov lands a nice forearm strike. Price seems a little lost for a moment, as Krabutov dominates the positioning.

A lull in the action here as Krabutov stalls from top position. Krabutov trying to control the action but Price is working from the bottom. Price is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Price's shoulder. That is not cool. Price is trying to improve his position. Krabutov controls the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Krabutov scores with punches from side control. Price gets back to half guard. Krabutov is working for a submission of some sort.
Price looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Krabutov keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
