Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bum Phillips!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Andrew Clay!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, David Schapiro and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Clay scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Clay gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Phillips to score an easy takedown into full guard.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Phillips stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Clay swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Clay looks to throw the jab but Phillips is out of range.

Phillips shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Clay's guard.

Clay wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Clay bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Phillips's guard.

Phillips seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

Phillips is fighting to break Clay's control of his arms but Clay is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Phillips tries to free his leg and advance position but Clay is retaining full guard.
Phillips sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Clay's guard.

Phillips is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Phillips is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Phillips is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Phillips wants to control but Clay is keeping him busy.

Phillips is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Clay doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Phillips.

Clay sizes up Phillips with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Phillips throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Clay tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Phillips is in Clay's guard.

Bum Phillips overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Clay is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Phillips is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Phillips wants to improve his position but Clay is controlling well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Phillips pulls Clay in close to prevent any damage.
Phillips can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Clay controls the pace.
Phillips has Clay pulled in close to control his posture.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Clay rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Phillips moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
A little feinted left hand from Phillips on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Clay connects with a jab.
Phillips tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Clay defends well and Phillips ends up having to push Clay into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Phillips's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

It looked like Phillips wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Phillips was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Clay connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

Andrew Clay showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! And we move into the final round!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Phillips is just content to waste time from the top position. Clay takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Clay has control of Phillips's left arm, preventing Phillips from doing any damage.

Phillips has gone for a leg lock! Clay slips out almost immediately though and dives into Phillips's guard.

Clay is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Phillips is on top in guard.

Phillips has his foot on Clay's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Clay works his way back into a safe position though.

Clay must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Phillips wants to get back to his feet but Clay is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Phillips pulls Clay in close to his closed guard and prevents Clay from doing any damage or advancing position.
Clay is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Clay is continuing to stall.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Clay's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Andrew Clay comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Clay has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
