Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Tomas Rumiantsev! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tko OP! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Trevor Gratis and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! OP connects with a jab. OP is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Rumiantsev gets in close and instigates a clinch. OP working hard to break the clinch. Rumiantsev is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. OP can't fight it off and eventually Rumiantsev manages to take the fight to the floor. OP looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Rumiantsev passes OP's left leg - he's now in half guard. Rumiantsev scoring with strikes to the body and head. OP tries to get to full guard but Rumiantsev has control of the leg. Rumiantsev seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. OP really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rumiantsev. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Rumiantsev is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
OP is rocked! Rumiantsev throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Rumiantsev is working for a kimura but OP is defending it quite comfortably.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Rumiantsev landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. OP is still in real trouble! Can Rumiantsev finish him?
That's one minute gone in the round. OP taking some punishment here, with Rumiantsev in his half guard. OP seems to have recovered his senses. OP is looking for a sweep. Rumiantsev is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Rumiantsev is looking for a kimura here.
Rumiantsev has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can OP defend it? Rumiantsev steps over the head and cranks it - OP is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Rumiantsev!
