Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Belyaev (ranked 1055 p4p, 3052 weight class) and Terrence Gordy (ranked 98 p4p, 252 weight class). Daniel Belyaev has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Daniel Belyaev!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Terrence Gordy!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Steve Smith and Robert Douchet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gordy fails with an attempt to clinch.
Gordy tries to clinch up but Belyaev circles away and keeps his distance.

Belyaev shoots in and gets a takedown into Gordy's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Belyaev advances to half guard.
Belyaev works his foot free and advances to mount.
Gordy tries to lock up and control but Belyaev gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Belyaev has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

Belyaev got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gordy has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Belyaev has managed to get both his arms back between Gordy's legs - danger averted.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Belyaev connects with a nice short shot to Gordy's temple.

You can see the frustration on Belyaev's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
