Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 4 - 0 - 1, fighting out of London, Fred Schneider! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 8 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Akamaru Jackson! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Alec Ball and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jackson doesn't succeed with the takedown and Schneider counters with a nice uppercut. Jackson with a poor takedown and Schneider counters with a stiff right hand.
It looks like Akamaru Jackson has been cut. Schneider tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Jackson was well out of range. Poor timing from Schneider. Jackson gets a takedown into half guard. Jackson prevents Schneider from improving his position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jackson lands strikes from half guard. Schneider is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Jackson's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Jackson's back! Jackson is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Schneider looking for the choke from the back.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Schneider is persistently looking for the submission but Jackson is defending it well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jackson rolls, trying to escape but Schneider keeps control of the position.
Schneider has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Jackson! Can he survive? No! He's out! Schneider gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Fred Schneider! A relieved looking Fred Schneider thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
