Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Raimo Kivi (ranked 1203 p4p, 1365 weight class) and Makon James (ranked 183 p4p, 211 weight class). Makon James has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Raimo Kivi's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Raimo Kivi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Makon James! The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Santiago Holmes and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! James uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Kivi. James waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Kivi. James on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Kivi. Kivi obviously looking to wear him down.
Kivi throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Kivi scoring well with a low kick there.
Kivi connects with a leg kick. Kivi pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Kivi cracks James with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. A good leg kick by Kivi. James has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. James falls off balance throwing a combination
and Kivi counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Kivi looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Kivi scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Raimo Kivi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. James misses with a body punch
and Kivi makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Jab from Kivi. Kivi feints and then cracks James's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow James down. Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Kivi. James shrugs it off though. James looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Kivi throws a head kick that misses. James ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kivi moves away. Nice cross by Kivi. James takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. James lands a nice hook to Kivi's body. Kivi takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. James connects with a body shot. This has been an exciting period of action! Kivi lands a big head kick that sends James tumbling to the mat! Kivi takes a step backwards and waves James back to his feet - he wants the finish!
James is rocked! James on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Kivi. Kivi obviously looking to wear him down.

A swing and a miss from Kivi. A countering left hand to the body from James misses. James seems to have recovered his senses. James's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. James throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
A counter left hand to the body from Kivi misses its target. James looks to score with a jab to the body but Kivi is just out of range. Kivi tried to counter with a leg kick but James avoided it. James throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Kivi counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. James swings away with a body shot that misses

James looks to score with a jab to the body but Kivi is just out of range. Kivi was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.

Kivi is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by James. James is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Kivi rather than just go for the knockout. Kivi connects with a leg kick. James lands with a shot to the body. James keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Kivi. James looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Kivi misses with a wild body shot. James is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Kivi with a body shot. James throws the left hand but Kivi avoids the punch easily. A shot to the body from James misses and Kivi counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Kivi throws a head kick that misses and James counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Kivi lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

and Kivi counters with a slapping leg kick. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Kivi scores with a leg kick.

James steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Kivi. James pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Kivi is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. James lands a nice shot that snaps Kivi's head back.
Kivi bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Kivi turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. James slips under a jab. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Raimo Kivi dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. James throws a predictable looking body shot
and Kivi counters with a nice uppercut. Raimo Kivi is winning the standup battle so far. Kivi throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Kivi throws a looping overhand right but James ducks down to avoid it. Kivi connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between James's hands. James uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kivi.
Kivi lands a jab. James jabbing away but nothing is landing. Kivi staying out of range there. Kivi swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. and Kivi counters with a nice low kick that buckles James's knee momentarily. Kivi is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that James can do to turn this around?

A very excited looking Raimo Kivi made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
