Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Joe Diddy (ranked 6257 p4p, 2445 weight class) and Roy Clarke (ranked 597 p4p, 312 weight class). Diddy comes to the cage accompanied by lvl99ROIDMAGE. Clarke has chosen Where the Streets Have No Name - U2 as his entrance music. Roy Clarke will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Diddy manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Clarke on his heels. He'll look to pass Clarke's guard now, I'm sure.

Clarke uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Diddy shoots and misses
and Clarke counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Diddy takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Clarke fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The fighters circling - Clarke throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

and Clarke counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Clarke gets caught flat footed, as Diddy shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Clarke manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Clarke wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Diddy has him pressed against the cage.
Clarke looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Diddy is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Clarke pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Clarke wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Diddy goes for a takedown attempt but Clarke pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Diddy feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Clarke has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Diddy is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
