Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Adam Joshua (ranked 4450 p4p, 4505 weight class) and Dimebag Abbot (ranked 460 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

BRAZEN - Fight Gear


Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Adam Joshua!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dimebag Abbot!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Robert Twigg and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Abbot tries for a takedown but Joshua circles away easily
and Joshua counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Joshua gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Joshua ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Joshua no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Abbot wants to control from the top but Joshua keeps moving.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Abbot wants to stand but Joshua has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Abbot throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Joshua works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup.
Joshua striking off his back but it's not causing Abbot any problems.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Joshua gets a clinch.
Joshua lands with a left to the head.
Abbot tries to pull guard but Joshua forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Joshua displaying some good clinch control by pressing Abbot up against the cage.

Joshua breaks the clinch.

Joshua has taken the fight to the clinch.
Abbot drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Joshua gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Adam Joshua has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dimebag Abbot.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Abbot jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Joshua walks away with a smile on his face. Abbot gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Joshua is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Abbot's half guard.
Joshua is taking a breather. Abbot says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Abbot is trying to stand up here but Joshua is controlling him well.
Joshua wants to pass the guard but Abbot is defending well.
Abbot wants to control but Joshua is keeping busy and won't allow it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Joshua wants to pass the guard but Abbot is defending well.
Abbot missing with punches from the bottom.
Joshua trying to control the action but Abbot is working from the bottom.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Joshua not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Abbot wants to get back to his feet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Abbot blocks a head kick by Joshua.
Abbot fails with an attempt to clinch.
Abbot shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Joshua counters with a series of strikes. Abbot will be more careful next time no doubt.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Abbot lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Joshua circles away quickly and effectively.
Joshua circles away from the clinch attempt.
Abbot will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
As Abbot looks to move away, Joshua throws a big counter combo but Abbot just gets out of the way.
Abbot throws a lazy body kick
and Joshua makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Abbot really felt that one!
Joshua tries a head kick but it misses.
Joshua is breathing heavily.

Joshua shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Abbot gets back to full guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Joshua stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Abbot throws up his legs and catches Joshua in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Joshua tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Abbot! That came out of nowhere!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Dimebag Abbot!
