Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jay Meadows (ranked 5665 p4p, 3591 weight class) and Dave Mellencamp (ranked 510 p4p, 414 weight class). Dave Mellencamp told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Vladimir Khabensky and Igor Prikhodko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Mellencamp, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Mellencamp throws a series of punches but Meadows moves out of range.
Meadows connects with a good right hand that stumbles Mellencamp. Mellencamp circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Meadows cracks Mellencamp with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Meadows bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Mellencamp's head.
Meadows dodges the punch combination from Mellencamp.
Mellencamp throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Meadows.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Mellencamp has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Meadows finds it's way round the side to connect with Mellencamp's head.
Mellencamp takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Meadows scores with a jab.
Meadows is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Meadows cracks Mellencamp on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Mellencamp falls backwards against the cage. Meadows follows up with more strikes that drop Mellencamp to his knees. Meadows keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Mellencamp! This one is all over!
