Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Teo King!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, John Schmidt!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Illya Tyunina and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
King lands a nice hook to Schmidt's body. Schmidt takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Schmidt dives in for a single leg takedown but King sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Schmidt drops his hands momentarily and King takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Schmidt moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Schmidt is rocked!
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Schmidt has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
King drops Schmidt with a beautiful combination! Schmidt stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - King is looking for the KO!
Schmidt is still on wobbly legs! Can King finish him?
Schmidt looks winded!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
King cracks Schmidt with a left hook right on the temple and Schmidt goes down! He's out! Referee! Stop the fight! King lands a few more punches before the dopey ref steps in - hopefully Schmidt is OK!
