PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Christopher Allan (ranked 4452 p4p, 4461 weight class) and Trent Bash (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Allan drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Bash manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Allan seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Bash does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

I really don't envy Bash right now.
Bash staying busy and making it hard for Allan to control.

Bash really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Allan. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Bash looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Allan has picked Bash up and slammed him! Bash can't keep hold of the triangle and Allan manages to pass to side control!

Allan lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Bash hold on?!

Allan has closed the distance and engaged Bash in a clinch.
Allan has Bash pressed against the cage, preventing Bash from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Bash has had enough of the clinch but Allan keeps him there for the moment.
Bash throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Allan blocks it with crossed arms.

Allan blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Allan is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Bash is aware though and is defending well.

Bash is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Allan is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Allan has escaped and now he's on top!

Bash is looking for a triangle here but Allan uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Allan will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Allan is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Bash is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Allan decides to stand back up. Allan steps back and let's Bash get back to his feet.
Allan shoots in looking for a takedown but Bash manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Allan's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Bash gets tackled into the cage by Allan. Allan maintains the clinch.

Allan is trying to drag Bash to the mat but Bash just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Allan tries to stall but Bash uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Allan breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Allan is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Bash can do to turn this around?
Allan shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Bash as he avoids it easily.
Bash changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Trent Bash has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Allan is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.

Well Allan has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
