Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Adrian Rose (ranked 1165 p4p, 903 weight class) and Terry Silver (ranked 154 p4p, 117 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 9 - 4 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Adrian Rose! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 18 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Terry Silver! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Alan Glass and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silver lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Rose throws a body punch but Silver moves out of range. Rose has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
It looks like Adrian Rose has been cut. Rose just misses with a punch to the body.
Rose slips under a jab. Rose throwing a counter right hand but Silver manages to avoid it. Rose misses the shot to the body. Rose has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Berloga in the buildup to the fight. Rose scores with a sloppy right hand. Silver should have avoided that one. Silver jabbing away but nothing is landing. Silver stalks Rose and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Rose's face. Rose staggers backwards, shaken. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Silver throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Rose stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Rose misses with an uppercut. Silver drops his hands momentarily and Rose takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Silver will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

and Silver counters with a nice body shot. Silver closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Rose throws a shot from downtown. Silver moves away and avoids it. Silver throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Rose sees it coming and avoids it easily. Silver tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Rose lands an overhand right. Rose scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Silver stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Adrian Rose's cut is getting worse. Silver misses with a looping left. Nice shot by Silver. The fight stays on the outside here - Silver looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Silver throws an ugly left hook that misses

A little jabbing left from Silver on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Rose throws a body punch but Silver moves out of range. Rose with a nice cross. Nice uppercut lands for Rose. That snapped Silver's head back.
Rose is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Rose ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Silver lands a nice shot that snaps Rose's head back.

The fighters circle momentarily. Rose darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Silver has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Rose. Silver misses with a looping right. Rose misses with a looping right. Rose throws a body shot but no joy. A little jabbing left from Silver on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Rose swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Rose wants to slow Silver down by chopping away at his legs. Silver tries to clinch and Rose counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Rose fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Rose dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Rose scores with a sloppy right hand. Silver should have avoided that one. Rose is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.

Silver feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Roses jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Silver might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Silver connects with a jab. A cross from Rose lands. Rose throws the left hand but Silver avoids the punch easily. Rose rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Silver moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Rose blocks a jab. As Silver backs away, Rose returns fire with a leg kick that just misses. Rose throws an overhand right that lands on Silver's shoulder, as Silver tries to avoid the shot. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Silver! But no joy. Silver blocks a jab. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Rose thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Silver if he has to take too many more of those.

and Silver counters with a one-two to the body.

This has been an exciting period of action! Silver tries to land a knee to the head but misses.

That's going to take a lot out of him. Rose tries to work over Silver's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Silver tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Silver has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Silver throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Rose can't do much from the bottom here. Silver looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Rose is avoiding damage well.
Rose seems to have got his legs back now. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rose wants to control but Silver postures up. Rose tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Silver wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Silver is trying to ground and pound but Rose uses the momentary lack of control by Silver to regain half guard. Silver thows a huge punch but Rose dodges it nicely.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Rose is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Rose frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Silver tries to hold on but Rose pushes him away. Silver is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Silver felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Rose can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Silver is looking to escape. Silver can't escape the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rose looking to control but Silver is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Rose postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Silver looks a forlorn figure.
Silver really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rose. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Silver is squirming around, avoiding Rose's attempts to control the action. Silver is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Silver is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. BOOM! Rose connects with a massive shot to the dome!

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Adrian Rose. I think Rose has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
