Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Eric Ries (ranked 2695 p4p, 3265 weight class) and Dave McDonald (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McDonald comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Raise Your Horns - Amon Amarth kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Ries has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McDonald jabs Ries right on the nose. Ries blinks but takes it well.
McDonald has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Ries is breathing heavily.

McDonald lands a big shot that drops Ries! Can he finish him?
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
McDonald looking to pass the guard.
McDonald stands and throws Ries's legs to the side, diving into side control.

McDonald is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Ries knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

McDonald is trying to get an arm triangle but Ries is defending well.
Ries might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

McDonald has knee on belly and moves into mount.
McDonald forces the positional change into back control.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.

McDonald is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Ries with him. Ries is trying to defend but McDonald has an arm under the chin now! Ries grimaces and is forced to tap out!
