The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Usman on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.

We've been informed that Nino has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Usman throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Nino's waist but Nino gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Usman off to one side.

Usman has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Nino can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Usman has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Nino is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Usman.
