Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bjorn Haelfson (ranked 4894 p4p, 4806 weight class) and Treacherous Cockatiel (ranked 534 p4p, 532 weight class). Haelfson comes into the arena with 80/20SKYBEEF blaring out of the sound system. Treacherous Cockatiel has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bjorn Haelfson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Treacherous Cockatiel! The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Josh West and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cockatiel tries to score a power double leg takedown but Haelfson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Cockatiel somewhat. Cockatiel gets tackled into the cage by Haelfson. Haelfson maintains the clinch. Cockatiel has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Haelfson clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Haelfson rolls, trying to escape but Cockatiel keeps control of the position.
Haelfson has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Cockatiel has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Haelfson has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Cockatiel is hanging on to Haelfson's back as he tries to escape.
Cockatiel has his opponent's back and is working for the choke. Well, with Cockatiel on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Haelfson is tapping out... Can he escape the position? The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Haelfson breaks Cockatiel's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Haelfson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Haelfson is working hard here to advance position. Cockatiel lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Cockatiel wants to control from the top but Haelfson keeps moving. Haelfson is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Cockatiel is aware though and is defending well. Haelfson on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Haelfson tries to get out of the position. Haelfson keeping moving, preventing Cockatiel from controlling successfully. Cockatiel trying to move into half guard but instead Haelfson has managed to sweep! Cockatiel keeping full guard, as Haelfson tries to pass. Cockatiel wants to sweep but no luck. Haelfson postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cockatiel keeping moving, preventing Haelfson from controlling successfully. Haelfson trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Haelfson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Cockatiel on the ground.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Haelfson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Cockatiel looking to hit a scissor sweep but Haelfson is one step ahead there. Cockatiel keeping full guard, as Haelfson tries to pass. Haelfson loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Haelfson pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Cockatiel is keeping the position for now. Cockatiel lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Cockatiel wants to control from the top but Haelfson keeps moving.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Haelfson wants to sweep but no luck. Cockatiel forces his way into half guard. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Cockatiel connects with a nice short shot to Haelfson's temple. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Cockatiel lands a nice short elbow. Cockatiel working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Cockatiel takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Cockatiel wants to take a breather but Haelfson is having none of it. Haelfson wants to improve his position but Cockatiel is controlling well.
Cockatiel trying to control the action but Haelfson is working from the bottom. Cockatiel is looking for submissions but instead, Haelfson has regained full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cockatiel postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Haelfson wants to improve his position but instead Cockatiel has moved into half guard.
Cockatiel trying to control the action but Haelfson is working from the bottom. Cockatiel wants to free his trapped foot but Haelfson is holding on for dear life with his legs. Cockatiel prevents Haelfson from improving his position. Haelfson is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Cockatiel's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Cockatiel's back! Haelfson is working hard for the rear naked choke here.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Treacherous Cockatiel dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Cockatiel closes the distance and clinches up with Haelfson, looking for a takedown. Cockatiel pushes Haelfson against the cage but Haelfson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Haelfson shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Cockatiel is trying to defend but Haelfson finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. The fighters are battling for position here. Cockatiel manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Haelfson avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Cockatiel escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Haelfson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Cockatiel working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Haelfson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Cockatiel is tightening it up a little... Haelfson has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Haelfson reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Haelfson taps out! Nice BJJ there by Cockatiel!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:53 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Treacherous Cockatiel! During a confident post fight interview, Treacherous Cockatiel thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
