PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hyu Head (ranked 4811 p4p, 6308 weight class) and Evander Tyson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Head's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Eye of the tiger. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 1, fighting out of The Island, Hyu Head!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 1, fighting out of The Island, Evander Tyson!
The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Peter Branson and Santiago Holmes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Head displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Tyson.
Head bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We've been hearing reports that Head has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Head tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Tyson defends well and Head ends up having to push Tyson into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Head is trying to trip Tyson. He has hold of a leg but Tyson is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Head persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Head stands and steps away. Tyson gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

That was a close round but I would say that Hyu Head will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Tyson thuds his right hand into Head's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Nice uppercut lands for Tyson. That snapped Head's head back.

Head closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Head is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Tyson presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

In his post fight interview, Hyu Head started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
