The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bob swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Hughes counters with a nice body shot.

and Hughes counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Hughes shoots in for a double leg but Bob sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hughes working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Bob doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Bob manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Hughes is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Bob doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Hughes.
Hughes is looking to take a break and control but Bob is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Hughes has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
